Ah Smocking . . . .

One of my great loves is English smocking, up there with sewing, embroidery, quilting, crocheting . . .what it comes down to is I just love to hand sew I guess. Well for the last month or so I have been doing quite a bit of sewing but some has been for Katie so I had to keep it secret, now I get to show you girls and get back a bit to being a sewing blog not just a Nana blog, hehe. Below is a dress I made for granchild #6, can't wait to meet her. This is the first thing I have pintucked (on the sleeves and bodice) with my new double needle and pintucking attachment, can't wait to do more. So much to sew,so little time.

Having seen this beautiful dress in the "flesh" so to speak, I can say that it is a work of art and skill and love. Susan is amazing and her work is much appreciated as clothing for the recipients and heirlooms for the future generations. My only sister and I am very proud of her her!
